New Programs in the CSE Department at Miami University

B.S. in Artificial Intelligence provides a structured pathway for students to develop expertise through the integration of computing, mathematics, and specialized AI courses, including machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI. Graduates of the program will be prepared for roles in AI and machine learning engineering, data science, applied research, and AI product development, or for graduate study in AI, computer science, and related fields.

B.S. in Quantum Computing is designed to prepare students for the emerging and transformative field of quantum technologies. Graduates will be well-prepared for high-demand careers in quantum software development, quantum cybersecurity, scientific research, and healthcare innovation, or to pursue graduate study in quantum computing, computer science, or engineering. According to the National Science & Technology Council’s report on Quantum Information Science and Technology workforce development, the field is currently creating more job openings than can be filled.
